MAHEND Deo and Shalend Gounder have been tasked with guiding the western team during the annual South versus West snooker challenge at the Nadi Sports Club on Saturday.
Deo dominated the North West Billiards and Snooker Association last year while Gounder finished as runner-up in the opening tournament of the 2013 season in Lautoka last week.
West team co-ordinator Rimal Narayan said last week's North West winner Suresh Chauhan, would be part of their outfit.
"Suresh captained the team last year so this year we have decided to give the captaincy to the other players," Narayan said.
"Mahend and Shalen will be co-captains as they are experienced players."
"The format for the competition will be decided on the day of the tournament. West will be fielding 30 players."
"There will be a meeting with the captains and tournament officials to discuss the format. In the past we played a couple of billiard games with singles and doubles snooker matches."
The tournament will start at 11am.
