Outrigger eyes $2m property development

OUTRIGGER on the Lagoon Fiji has revealed over $2million would be used for the construction of a new swimming pool for adults, wedding reception venue and a new generator.

The investment was expected to boost the tourism sector along the Coral Coast.

General manager Peter Hopgood said the swimming pool would incorporate a 20-metre lap pool which would cascade into a lagoon pool with a swim-up bar.

"The whole pool area will be a dedicated adults-only area. The new wedding reception venue will be able to cater up to 120 wedding guests," he said.

"While the main proportions of guests staying at Outrigger are family groups, we have also attracted a large number of couples. It is vitally important that we have a dedicated area where couples can relax in peace and quiet away from all of the children having their own fun. The wedding business at Outrigger has shown incredible growth over the past three years.

"We needed to build a dedicated reception venue to cater for this business." He said they were excited about the opening of the pool and reception area in late April.
