Wednesday, February 13, 2013

PRESIDENT Ratu Epeli Nailatikau officiated at the Chinese New Year celebration at the Yat Sen School on Sunday.

In his address to the hundreds in attendance, Ratu Epeli said the Chinese community had been part of the backbone of Fiji's business and farming community.

He said many of the original immigrant families from China had migrated to other countries but Fiji continued to welcome the arrival of other Chinese families.

He added the Chinese community was hardworking, responsible and law abiding, and was a very important asset to Fiji's economy.
