Soldier cops $300 fine

A SOLDIER was reminded by the Suva Magistrates Court that his role was to uphold the law and not put people's lives at risk.

Samuela Jitoko, 46, married with two children was charged with one count of drunk driving.

He appeared before Magistrate Chaitanya Lakshman yesterday where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Jitoko was slapped with a fine of $300 that should be paid within the next 28 days or spend 30 days in prison.
