MAKOI resident Jesoni Nabalarua was a happy shopper over the weekend when he received an Alcatel T60 Tablet worth $299 in the RB Patel Text and Win promotion.

The ecstatic winner was surprised when he was notified of his win and thanked the supermarket chain for the promotion which includes giveaways worth $100,000.

"I am very happy with the win and would like to thank RB Patel. It's not often that I enter text promotions but something urged me to enter this time around," he said yesterday.

Vunimono Islamia primary schoolteacher Anjana Kumar was also excited about winning a $5000 shopping voucher in the second weekly drawing.

"It's an exciting win but I'm planning to budget wisely," said the Verata resident who shopped at RB Patel in Nausori. Another Tablet winner was Nadawa resident Yogita Prasad.

Four weekly winners for the $5000 shopping voucher would be drawn every Saturday until February 23 followed by the grand cash prize draw of $30,000 on March 3.

The next draw would be held on February 16 and people have to text RB to the number 818 to go into the draw.

The company said if the text included a receipt number from shopping done at RB Patel supermarkets, a customer would get double entries for the prizes up for grabs.

The company said they had received a significant number of entries for the promotion which provided customers a chance to win shopping vouchers, talk time worth $40,000, and Flashnets and Tablets worth $10,000.
