A 46-YEAR-OLD man who allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl appeared in the High Court in Suva yesterday.
The accused, appeared before High Court judge, Justice Salesi Temo after his case was transferred from the Suva Magistrates Court last week.
The accused had earlier appeared before Magistrate Alipate Mataitini where his case was transferred because it was of an indictable nature.
Yesterday, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) counsel asked the court for a mention date where they would also serve the accused with full disclosures.
Justice Temo therefore adjourned the matter to March 4.
He also ordered the accused to be remanded in prison.
The accused is alleged to have raped the seven-year-old victim on December 12, last year.
He was arrested by police on February 2.
