Policeman evades court

Nanise Loanakadavu
Tuesday, February 12, 2013

A MENTION date has been set for a policeman charged with one count of destroying evidence and one count of receiving a corruption benefit.

Netani Seru failed to appear before Magistrate Chaitanya Lakshman yesterday — instead the investigating officer appeared to answer to his whereabouts.

He also failed to appear last week when the case was first called before Magistrate Lakshman.

Seru was arrested in June 2011 for allegedly destroying evidence kept at the Nabua Police Station as exhibits. The case has been adjourned to February 28, for mention.
