THE newly-proposed Social Democratic Liberal party, successor to the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua party, had no problem getting 5000 signatures of supporters for registration.

This was confirmed by the party's senior executive member Dr Tupeni Baba in an interview yesterday.

Dr Baba said they were preparing the final requirements of registration under the new Political Parties Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosure Decree 2013. "We are grateful to our people for supporting us," he said.

Dr Baba said they would soon meet some Ministry of Justice officials to ensure that the registration details were correct before submission.

The registration date closes on February 14.
