Ba win is milestone for Kumar

BA Football Association president Rishi Kumar celebrated his tenth anniversary with the association in style after the men in black defeated Suva 3-0 in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League at Govind Park on Saturday.

Hailed as one of Ba soccer's most successful administrators, Kumar was elected to the position back in February, 2003.

Since then Ba has won more than 30 local titles.

Association secretary Iliasz Khan said Kumar deserved praise for his able leadership in adminstrative matters.

He said the key to Ba's success was dedication and unity of the players and management.

"Rishi is a person who does not come in the limelight all the time," Khan said.

"But he has a big heart for soccer. In Ba soccer is the main sport and fans always want the team to win."

"But all teams are not unbeatable. Right now we are second on the NFL points table but we won the Champion versus Champions title."

"We will turn our focus on the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League which starts next month. Ba has a busy schedule this year."

Ba will take on Rewa in the NFL at Govind Park this Saturday.
