FINISHING touches are being made by the China Railway First Group (Fiji) Company to the newly constructed $16.7million Moto Bridge and the upgraded Tabataba Rd. Project manager Song Tianpeng said 90 per cent of the work had been completed with the official opening to be made soon.
Part of the bridge was washed away in January last year and attempts to repair the crossing were hampered by wet weather and fresh flooding last month.
Despite the disruption, the company said the project was ready for use.
"The bridge construction is completed and we are just waiting for the relocation of the water pipe under the new bridge before officially opening the project," said Mr Tiangpeng.
"The bridge is firm and ready to benefit many settlers and villagers on the other side of the river."
