SC Fiji welcomes move

THE move made by the Fiji Police Force to increase the number of women officers in their taskforce has been welcomed by Save the Children Fiji (SC Fiji).

SC Fiji chief executive officer Chandra Shekhar said the organisation fully supported the force's decision.

He said although this was a good thing, the force must consider training all their officers — women included — about being gender sensitive.

Earlier this week, the force confirmed it was determined to increase the number of women officers.
