Update: 2:34PM THE Rakiraki Bridge on the Kings Road has been declared unsafe and will be closed permanently this week.
A government statement said the Fiji Roads Authority had prepared a traffic management plan to minimise traffic impacts and delays associated with the bridge closure.
FRA chief executive officer Neil Cook said they had prepared a diversion plan for traffic while the new bridge was being built.
