Fijiana fitness pleases coach

FIJIANA rugby coach Elenoa Kunatuba is pleased with her players' fitness level as they build up to the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow.

Kunatuba was surprised with the results produced by her players at the High Performance Unit gym yesterday.

She said players were committed to their training during the break.

"I am very happy with what I saw today (yesterday), they showed a lot of improvement in their fitness test.

"This is just the start and slowly they are picking up again from where we left off. In our previous tests, the girls usually have four to five during the beep test but now they are having eight to 10," Kunatuba said.

"This shows how dedicated they were during the festive season. Before the end of last year, they were reminded to maintain fitness and be mindful of what they eat and drink.

"I'm happy they were keen in maintaining their fitness."

She said this was a positive sign as they build up to the event in Russia.

Kunatuba will conduct another test next Tuesday to test the China-based players including Litiana Naiqato, Veniana Raiwai, Rusila Tamoi, Timaima Ravisa, Asinate Savu, Josivini Gusuivalu, Lavenia Tinai and Rusila Nagasau.
