THE Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa at Denarau in Nadi welcomed its first guests of 2013 yesterday.
Managing director Starwood Hotels and Resorts Fiji Shane Cunning said the resort was opening a month ahead of schedule.
Mr Cunning said the achievement was credited to the amazing effort by management, associates and contractors.
"Hotel manager Ravinder Dhesi and his team have come together under immense pressure and have delivered beyond expectations with the resort looking immaculate and refreshed.
"The temporary closure has given the resort a chance to enhance its features and now not only looks but feels revitalised," he said.
He said concurrent with the reopening, the hotel would also launch a brand new restaurant, Steakhouse by Peter Kuruvita.
"Having opened the award winning Flying Fish in Sydney in 2003, internationally-renowned chef and SBS TV presenter Peter joined the Starwood family in 2008 with the opening of Flying Fish Fiji at Sheraton Fiji Resort.
"The Westin is delighted to be able to partner with Peter now on this new exciting restaurant venture," Mr Cunning said.
