Fisherman returns home

A FAMILY in Rabi Island is overjoyed after their missing father returned home safely on Monday evening.

Tima Rababre, 34, was reported missing by his wife on Sunday when he failed to return from a fishing trip on Saturday.

Confirming this, police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said Mr Rababre took shelter at a settlement on the other side of the island.

"He took shelter after he could not paddle back home as a result of the rough seas," Insp Sokomuri said.

"He is now safe at home with his family."
