Update: 1:15PM A 70-YEAR old man is in police custody in Lau over allegations he raped a 10-year old girl on an island in the group.
Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the father of the girl reported the matter to police after he witnessed the alleged offence.
He said the man had sent her daughter to fetch something from their home when the suspect followed her into the house and committed the alleged act.
