THE Maternity Unit at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital will now be able to better respond to the needs of a mother and child admitted in the hospital.

This after the maternity unit received a timely gift of $10,000 worth of goods and products from overseas manufacturing company SCA Hygiene Australasia on Monday.

The items given included toilet and facial tissue, hygiene products, paper towel, disposable tableware and incontinence products.

General manager SCA Hygiene Australasia Pacific branch Eldon Eastgate said the gift was targeted towards boosting services at the maternity unit.

General manager CWM Hospital Ned Taito commended the company for their support towards promoting proper hygienic practices. Meanwhile, senior matron at the Maternity Unit, Aliote Galuvakadua welcomed the gift adding that one of the major outputs of the ministry was to promote good health and hygiene among mothers.
