Assistance for NGOs

TEN non-profit organisations from the Western and Northern divisions have been given financial assistance worth $176,000 from the Vodafone ATH Foundation.

The NGOs include Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development (FRIEND), Rotary Pacific Water for Life, Lions Club of Ba, Rotary Club of Lautoka, Veiseisei Sai Health Centre, Rotary Club of Nadi, Sangam Fiji Foundation, Fiji Sevashram Sangha, Rama Krishna Mission and the Lions Club of Labasa.

Divik Deo, director of Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation said the grant aimed to assist the affected people and rebuild lives after Cyclone Evan.

"We've been receiving request for lost homes, need for education assistance and also for food security," Mr Deo said.
