E-tickets for tourists

Nasik Swami
Wednesday, February 06, 2013

TOURISTS entering our shores at any port of entry will be issued with an electronic-ticketing card which they will use to travel on buses in the country.

However they will be required to return these e-tickets when they leave the country.

Vodafone Fiji head of corporate affairs Shailendra Prasad said tourists could get their cards at a deposit of $10 at any port of entry.

Mr Prasad said the e-ticketing cards would also be issued to transport companies that transport tourists throughout Fiji.

He said tourists would only have to top up their cards in order to use them.

"This service will be provisioned before the use of e-ticketing cards becomes a requirement."
