THE Warriors basketball team will not feature in the Raiwaqa Basketball Association super league this season.
This was confirmed by RBA official Peniasi Kainamoli.
Warriors were earlier included in the super league but made a last minute withdrawal prior to round one. Kainamoli said the other clubs participated in round one of the competition last Saturday.
"We have started the league already and we are happy to see the way the players performed. It was a good way to start the season and we hope for more improved performances as we progress," he said.
"The Warriors club will not be part of our league this season. They have pulled out of our league and they might be joining the Suva/Laucala league."
Warriors is one of the dominant forces in local basketball competition.
Kainamoli said they had lost one of the competitive teams in their league.
Other teams like Boston, Veterans, Bryce and Mighty Mights, Golden Bati and University of the South Pacific (USP) will continue their rivalry at Eds Court for the next couple of weeks prior to the Easter Championship in April.
Veterans, Boston Red and Golden Bati started their campaign on a winning note over the weekend.
Kainamoli said the top six teams from Raiwaqa would compete at the Easter event.
