THE search for a 40-year-old woman of Roma Settlement on Taveuni who was reported missing while on a fishing trip continues, police say.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed this yesterday saying officers on the island were still trying to locate the woman.

"We are still looking for her at the moment and we hope to locate her sometimes soon," she said.

Ms Naisoro said the woman had gone fishing with her 13-year-old nephew last week when the incident happened.

She said her nephew had returned to their home for some food when he became hungry and when he returned to the fishing spot, the woman was nowhere to be found.
