Update: 6:48PM FIJIS Public Service Commission has confirmed the appointment of Dr Josefa Koroivueta as the acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation.
Dr Koroivueta would replace Govind Sami, whose contract, a government statement this afternoon confirmed, had expired.
The statement said that the Commission today expressed its gratitude to Mr Sami who had served in the position since 2009. Prior to this, Mr Sami held several senior positions in the civil service.
Dr Koroivueta will act in the position of PS while the post is advertised and filled.
