THE organisers of the first ever Viria Blues Unity 7s tournament are considering organising another tournament later this year.

This was after a successful tournament at the Veiuto Primary School grounds yesterday.

A total of 32 teams including some big names like Army, Red Rock, Samurai Barracudas, Lomaiviti Babas and Police took part in the tournament and organiser Apolosi Vakaloloma said they were happy with the result.

"We were really overwhelmed by the response we received towards this tournament, from both the teams and the public as a lot of fans chose not to watch the Wellington 7s but come and watch our tournament," he said.

He said despite having no sponsor they managed to organise a successful tournament and would love to organiser another.

"We are now considering organising another tournament because of the success of this one.

"We had no sponsor and our first choice ground, Ratu Cakobau Park was not available but the tournament turned out to be a huge success.

"If we do have another tournament, it will be in December and it will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori," Vakaloloma said.
