Effective way to lose weight

A FUN way to lose weight is now in town with Toso Dance Fitness.

Toso (move) dance is a fusion of exercise and dance that is not only fun but effective and easy to follow.

A first for Fiji, Toso Dance fitness director Philo Action said what they offer aims to provide fitness to people of all age groups, shapes and sizes.

"We aim to allow people to burn calories, lose weight and tone out," said Ms Action.

"We have effective dance routines which are easy for participants to follow."

Ms Action, who is a certified Zumba instructor from the United Kingdom, said that in an hour's session a dancer could burn between 700 and 1000 calories, and her aim is to get Fiji active on its feet.

"We did our survey and it shows there is a huge demand for fitness here," she said.

She said no prior dance experience is needed to join.

"We want locals to be given a chance and now we have certified dance instructors who have undergone an instructor's workshop course," she said.

Lead instructor Stella Vadei said committed participants could lose a tremendous amount of weight.

"I was 85kg when I started off and I lost 25kg in just 4 weeks," she said.

A registered company, Toso dance classes are conducted every Monday-Friday at different venues and fees range from $3 to $5 for an hour session.

Toso Dance Fitness will hold auditions for new dance fitness instructors in Lami, Suva, Nabua, Nasinu, Nausori, Navua and Pacific Harbour today at the Royal Suva Yacht Club.
