Student Learning Support (SLS)

To make your transition into university studies easier and for successful completion of your programs, FSTE Student Learning Support provides you with free services such as: study buddies, study guides on note-taking, assignment writing, seminar presentations, critical reading, to name a few. One-to-one consultation with student learning specialists, online tutor assistance and study skills workshops.

* FSTE Refresher Program

FSTE is introducing a new program, known as the FSTE Refresher program this year. This program aims to facilitate a smooth transition of students into higher education. The FSTE Refresher Program has ten attractive modules, which have been designed and developed by highly qualified staff and tailored for FSTE new students. These modules are covered in one-hour sessions and are repeated on a daily basis from 9am to 5pm from Feb 11-22. Each day, five sessions will run in parallel at the Japan ICT Centre to allow students to attend the modules at times most convenient to them without missing out on other scheduled sessions or lectures. At the end of the FSTE Refresher Program students will not only be up-skilled and informed, but well prepared to face the challenges of university life. We aspire to make sure every participant hits the ground running. Each participant will be recipient of the faculty certificate and a mobile SIM sponsored by DIGICEL. Their names will also go in a draw to win attractive prizes!

Academic and Cultural Orientation for Tertiary Students (ACTS) Program:

This is a special program designed for our sponsored students to help them settle in and refresh their study skills before the semester begins. The ACTS program is a two-week integrative, engaging and stimulating experience for students and is being held from Jan 28—Feb 9. 2013.
