THREE organisations in the Western Division committed to providing relief to communities affected by natural disasters received much needed funding from the Bank South Pacific in Nadi yesterday.

The groups — Lautoka Rotary Club, Nadi Rotary Club and the Rama Krishna Mission Cyclone Relief program — were given $1000 each by the bank in its efforts to provide relief to cyclone affected families.

BSP's western division head of corporate and commercial department Curtis Mar said the bank was proud to assist the group in their relief work.

"In our own small way, we would like to give something to these societies that help our community in general," Mr Mar said. "We take our hats off to them for what they have done for our people," he said.

Mr Mar revealed that BSP had allocated $100,000 for its assistance to non-profit organisations.
