NO date has been confirmed for the consecration of the new Catholic archbishop elect Father Peter Loy.
The head of the church in Fiji Archbishop Petero Mataca, said in an interview with this newspaper that a date had yet to be confirmed.
"We have yet to choose a date and the archbishop elect will have to let us know when is the best time for him," he said.
"It is also up to him to choose who will do the consecration ceremony."
Archbishop Mataca said church officials from Rome would not be present for the ceremony.
"No one will come in from Rome as the consecration can be done by myself as Archbishop of Suva or other archbishop but that is up to Fr Peter," he said.
The Vatican announced Fr Peter as the next Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Fiji.
Pope Benedict XVI made the announcement in Rome last month.
