A carrom competition will be organised by the North West Billiards and Snooker Association in Lautoka next month.
The carrom competition will coincide with NWBSA's first snooker championship for the new season.
NWBSA introduced the carrom competition last year which attracted high interest. FEA technician Ritesh Kumar won the inaugural tournament at the Lautoka Club.
NWBSA president Suresh Chauhan said the carrom competition would spice up the snooker championship.
He said carrom was normally played as a past time.
"Carrom is a family game so we anticipate a high turnout," Chauhan said.
Meanwhile Mahend Deo, Vineel Nand, Rimal Narayan, Nitesh Chand, Vinesh Prasad, Vinay Madhwan, Pita Tevita, Navneel Maharaj, Ali Boy and Shalend Scotty are amongst the top seeds for the snooker championship.
The date for the tournament is yet to be finalised.
Chauhan said they were working on the logistics to organise the league competition which would involve the various clubs from Tavua to Sigatoka.
