ORGANISERS of the 2013 Summer Cup golf competition are expecting the same response from Round 1 for Round 2 competition today.

The back nine holes will be played in the FMF Foods Limited sponsored event and Lady captain Margaret Browne said round 1 was a success.

She said round two was expected to be the same if the same number of participants turn up.

"We had 29 starters for Round 1 and I would expect the same for Round 2 tomorrow (today)," Browne said.

"It was a good turn-out because some players who had not featured in the tournament for a year or two are back to compete once again," she said.

Including round 2, seven rounds of competition is left and Browne believes the leader in the competition can change as the competition progresses.

"Barbara Naisara, who came with 24 stableford points, leads the competition after round 1 with six points followed by Agnes Managreve and Debi Gibson.

"But the leader in the competition is expected to change if other players can do better.

"It's still anyone's game as we have seven more rounds to go," she said.

Browne said men are welcome to play if they want to.
