RAKESH Chand took out the A grade title during the opening round of the Rotomould Fiji Limited Summer Cup at the Nadi Airport Golf Club on Saturday.
Chand carded 67 nett to claim the first prize.
Fiji junior champion Baarroon Hussain was second with 75 nett.
Mohammed Faiyaz finished third with 76 nett.
Hamza Ali won the B grade, scoring 69 nett. Former FIFA referee Mahen Singh was second with 70 nett.
Singh edged out Plantation Island Resort golf course designer Ananda Madhwan on a count back.
SSKMC school student Divesh Kumar won the C grade. The third former scored an impressive 61 nett. Shamal Narayan also a SSKMC form three student scored 64 nett to be placed second.
Sunil Dutt was third with 66 nett while Rocky Chand hit the longest drive. The second round will be played next Saturday. The Design Engineering-sponsored Western Open will be at the Lautoka Golf Club today.
