THE Lautoka Football Association is set to revive the club knockout competition next month after several years.

The knockout competition will feature teams from both division one and division two playing against each other.

The idea of the knockout competition was mooted by the interim panel of coaches who were appointed to guide the Blues in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League.

A total of 28 clubs have registered for the new season.

LFA secretary Reginald Abinesh Nagaiya said all the clubs agreed to participate in the knockout competition after the entry fees for the event was dropped from $100 to $50.

He said the opening round of matches would be played on February 10.

"We will be using Nadovu Park which comprises three grounds," Nagaiya said.

"The matches will be played over 60 minutes. There will be a separate opening for the local league competition."
