Five months for assault

A MAN who assaulted his wife two years ago has been jailed for five months by the Labasa Magistrates Court.

Viliame Turner was charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He pleaded guilty to the charge before Magistrate Sia'iniu Fa'alogo Bull.

The court heard that Turner assaulted his wife in the presence of one of his children in Cakaudrove in January 20, 2011.

In sentencing, Magistrate Bull said the incident was a vicious nature of assault in the presence of a child.
