One more charged for practising witchcraft

YET another person has been charged by the Fiji Police Force for pretending to practise witchcraft and for the disturbance of a person's grave.

This was confirmed by police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro yesterday.

"A third person has been charged for allegedly digging up the grave of a 60-year-old man last year in Savusavu," said a police statement.

The accused, according to the report, was 17 years of age and was arrested and charged on both counts — disturbance of any person's grave and pretending to exercise witchcraft.

Meanwhile, two youths charged with similar offences earlier this month have again been arrested for allegedly breaching their bail conditions.

The police statement reported their bail conditions stated they were not allowed to set foot in their village.

They were produced in the Labasa court yesterday morning.
