THE Boxing Commission of Fiji has dubbed the return bout between Junior Farzan Ali and Opeti Tagi as a grudge match.

The two boxers will clash for the Fiji welterweight title during the Naidiri Boxing Promotions Program in Nadi on March 16.

Jr Farzan won the title from Tagi in April 2011 via a split points decision at Prince Charles Park.

He successfully defended it against Aisea Naiti with a technical knockout decision five months later at the same venue.

BCF board member Malakai Veisamasama said Tagi who was a light middleweight boxer now would have to drop his weight.

"Tagi will have to bring his weight down to the 66.6 kilogram class," Veisamasama said.

"This will be a grudge match as Jr Farzan took the title from Tagi sometime back."

Jr Farzan's father and trainer Farzan Sr said this would be a tough fight for his son.

He rated this fight as the biggest in Jr Farzan's boxing career.

"This is a return bout and Jr will have to work very hard as Tagi is a classy boxer," Farzan Sr said.

Jr Farzan boasts a record of 34 fights with 27 wins, five losses and two draws

Known as the "Razor" Jr Farzan has a total of 18 knockouts under his belt.

Tagi has fought 24 times recording 16 wins and eight losses.
