Woman annoys

A 57-YEAR-OLD woman has admitted indecently annoying another woman. Before Magistrate Yohan Liyanage, Ilisabeta Maya was charged with one count of indecently annoying a person. She sought forgiveness from the court in the presence of the complainant. Magistrate Liyanage ordered the woman not re-offend for three months or pay $200 to the court.

Drug charge

A WOMAN has pleaded not guilty to one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs. Alena Dirau Caqeua appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court this week. On December 26 last year, Ms Caqeua was found with 0.4 grams of marijuana in her possession. The case has been adjourned to April 19.

15 counts

A FORMER police prosecutor has been released on bail by the Suva court. Leone Lautabui, 49, is charged with 15 counts of obtaining goods by deception and other charges. He allegedly presented dud cheques when he bought groceries from a supermarket in Suva between April 3 and April 7 last year. The case resumes on February 1.

Financial deceit

A MAN charged with obtaining financial advantage by deception has denied the offences. Mohammed Ali also denied two counts of dishonesty. Prosecutor Constable Elina Lotudina said the incident occurred between April 1 and 26 last year. The case resumes on February 1.
