TEAM Fiji officials are working round-the-clock to oversee the events calendar and selection criteria of the national federations that will take part in the upcoming Pacific Mini Games (PMG).

Chef de Mission Alini Sovu said the national federations submitted their events calendar and selection criteria for endorsement following the first Team Fiji Assembly earlier this month.

She said they would have a thorough look at the documents before releasing funds that had been allocated by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) for team preparation.

Sovu said FASANOC and the national federations alike had been supportive in the preparation for the PMG which would be held in Wallis and Futuna from September 2 to 12 this year.

"Apparently we have set July 2 as the deadline for the final team," she said.

"We are complying with what the organisers of the PMG are following whereby all the teams should be confirmed by July 3.

"The team officials are working hard to ensure the deadline is met."

Meanwhile, Sovu said they would host the second Team Fiji Assembly on February 16 at FASANOC at 8am.

She said squad members and officials would undergo a medical test on the day.

"We request all team officials to ensure their squad members are present at this assembly," Sovu added.

Fiji will be represented in athletics, rugby, tae kwon do, weightlifting, volleyball, beach volleyball, va'a canoeing and sailing.
