Healthy living awareness

Salaseini Moceiwai
Wednesday, January 23, 2013

RAISING awareness on health living, a group of youths in Labasa have decided to sacrifice at least an hour a day for a fun run and a walk for health.

The initiative that started a fortnight ago saw the participation of residents of Vunivau, Vaturekuka and Basoga outside the town area.

Vunivau Paras Point youth club co-ordinator, Preetika Nandran said the idea was to increase awareness on the benefits of exercising daily.

"The health walk and fun run provide a platform to educate the public on the health benefits of exercising and also to demonstrate the correct type of walk that delivers a good healthy exercise workout," Mrs Nandran said.
