The National Fire Authority is yet to determine the cause of the fire that destroyed the Pacific Green factory in Sigatoka last Saturday.

According to police, a 30-year-old polisher was inside the factory spraying the furniture in the room when a floodlight bulb allegedly blew.

NFA chief executive officer John O'Connor said they had yet to determine the cause.

Reiterating the need for business owners to take precautionary measures when it comes to fire safety, Mr O'Connor said employees must be educated on fire safety rules.

He said staff should know what to do in case of a fire incident in the building.

Meanwhile, company director Ravin Chandra said the fire occurred around midday.
