Man denies charges

A MAN who allegedly killed another man and assaulted a woman pleaded not guilty to the charges last Friday.

James Ashwin Raj appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Goundar at the High Court in Labasa.

He was charged with one count of manslaughter and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The court heard the alleged incident occurred in Labasa on June 28, last year. The court has ordered that he be further remanded in custody.
