Food rations cost $1m

GOVERNMENT has distributed more than $1million worth of food rations to cyclone affected areas in the Western Division.

This was revealed by divisional planning officer west Luke Moroivalu after a briefing of the National Emergency Operations Centre in Lautoka.

Mr Moroivalu said 42 homes had been assisted with repairs.

"In terms of food rations, the Yasawa and Mamanuca Groups and Vatulele have received one month's supply because of the extensive devastation to plantations and food supply."
