Labasa ace striker Joseph Mishra scored two goals as the Babasiga Lions defeated Nadroga 4-3 during the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League at Lawaqa Park yesterday.

The visitors were ahead 2-0 in the first 20 minutes as they rattled the Nadroga defence with some crisp passing and good control of the ball.

But the home team netted two goals to equalise which really pleased the crowd.

Krishneel Dutt hammered home their third goal to give his team a one-goal advantage.

But Labasa regrouped and scored two goals within a space of two minutes which broke the hearts of the strong vocal supporters.

Newly-appointed Nadroga president Vijay Singh was obviously disappointed.

"They didn't take their chances and never played their hearts out for Nadroga.' said Singh.

He said the absence of senior players during training really affected their play .

"I allowed them to play because of their experience despite not coming to train." But he praised the young players who turned up for training throughout the week.

"One of my aims this year is to instil pride in wearing the Nadroga soccer jersey, this is something missing from our players in the last few years when they played only for money.

"The money will automatically come if we win games."
