POLICE sent out a strong message yesterday warning members of the public not to assist or harbour Sailasa Mociu, 43, who is wanted for the murder of 33-year-old mother of four, Kasaya Veisei of Naisaumua Village in Tailevu.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said a special task force team was in the west looking for Mr Mociu.

"We have received information that there are certain individuals who are assisting Mociu and we are sending out a reminder that it is against the law to do so.

"The special task force team that is in the Western Division have managed to narrow down the search however as we get more information of his whereabouts it is evident that he is being assisted with provisions of food and other necessities," she said.

Ms Naisoro said anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of Mr Mociu should contact their nearest community post or police station or alternatively call 917.
