Drowning claim twin sisters

Update: 2:32PM A MALOLO family is mourning the loss of their twin daughters who drowned in a pond near their home on Thursday.

The two girls aged one year 11 months were playing outside their home in their mothers presence.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said their mother went into their home to do the laundry while the girls wandered off to a nearby pond.

Ms Naisoro said the woman, 32, came out and found them missing, she searched and found them floating in the pond.

Police is investigating the circumstances surround the death, that brings to five the total drowning cases this year compared to four of the same period last year.
