SAMOA and Tonga are planning to break loose today in their bid to become the first international team to win the Uprising Fiji International 7s title.

Both have booked their places in the cup quarters after finishing in the top two of their respective pools.

The Lolo Lui-led Samoans are undefeated so far while Etuate Waqa's Tonga just lost a game against LICI Police in pool play.

Samoa coach Faamaoni Lalomilo was happy with the performance of his younger players on day one of the tournament and expected them to rise again today.

Samoa faces the FMF Fiji Warriors in the third quarterfinal today and Lalomilo said he expected another tough clash.

Meanwhile, Tonga coach Waqa was impressed with his gladiators performance in their final pool match against Digicel Fiji Barbarians.

The visitors shocked the Fiji 7s side beating them 17-14 in a thrilling encounter.

Waqa said the team would come better prepared in the quarters against Yamacia.
