Sports News in Brief

Medical support

THE College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences (CMNHS) is supporting the Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament for the second year. Three physiotherapy lecturers, 11 students and the Fiji Rugby Union physio William Kwoong are based at Churchill Park not only for the diagnosis and management of injuries sustained during the tournament but also to provide preventative advice and information with regards to hydration, stretching, good form and posture.

Free Wi-Fi

Unwired 4G is providing Wi-Fi for members of the media and the organising committee during the Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament. This will allow the media and organisers to post updates and upload photos on social media sites using smart-phones, laptops and other Wi-Fi enabled devices through fast internet. Unwired head of corporate sales Charlotte Taylor said they were proud to be associated with the Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament.

Best ground

CHURCHILL Park has been described as the best ground in the country. Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum shared similar sentiments about the ground during the launch of the tournament at the Northern Club on Thursday.

Beach rugby

CHIEF organiser Culden Kamea said the Uprising Fiji International 7s is the first tournament to have a beach on the sideline. "We want to make things look different because this is Fiji," Kamea said. "We play our rugby on the beach."
