Men in Black remain cautious

DEFENDING champion Ba has opted to keep a low profile for the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League match against Navua at Prince Charles Park in Nadi today.

This is in contrast to the Navua camp which has been vocal about their chances of beating the defending champions.

Ba edged Navua 2-1 during the Inter-District Championship semi-finals at Govind Park last year.

In the 2012 NFL, Ba defeated Navua on both occasions — 2-1 in the first match and 2-0 in the second.

Ba team manager Arvind Singh said they would take a serious approach against the southerners.

He said they were wary of the tactics Navua would adopt.

"Navua has always proved to be a challenging team for us," Singh said.

"Navua has come out strongly in the media about the fixture. For us it is just another game and we will do our talking on the field.

"The training went well after the two wins last week. Now the focus is on maintaining that momentum.

"We will need to work hard as it is another away game for us."

Marika Rabonikadavu, who captained the team last weekend, is likely to spearhead Ba's campaign.

Defender Remuere Takiate will miss the encounter through injury.

Ba will face Navua at 1.30pm.
