SUVA 1 will start its campaign in the FBC Suva Volleyball Inter-district tournament when they take on Nasinu 3 in the opening game at National Gymnasium this morning.
Suva 1 will feature players from the champion Marist side.
Nasinu 3 will also have a combination of players from Marist and Cakau clubs.
A total of 34 teams have confirmed participation for the two-day tournament which starts at the National Gym today.
Suva Volleyball president Viliame Katia said this week's meet would be different in light of the postponement of the Vulaca Championship which was also scheduled for this weekend.
The SVA Games Committee has decided to open its doors to five teams from outside the association to compete at the IDC.
"Suva has answered the SOS call from these clubs, who have prepared for the Vulaca tournament but have been found wanting with the postponement.
"We had earlier stated that we would not allow teams competing at the Vulaca to participate," Katia said.
"But we have now opened the doors for them".
