Officer to be sentenced

A 40-YEAR-OLD soldier is to be sentenced next month after admitting yesterday he had annoyed a woman.

Akuila Matanitabu pleaded guilty before Magistrate Yohan Liyanage.

The court heard the complainant, a 19-year-old student teacher of Newtown at Nasinu, was on her way home one afternoon when Matanitabu approached and asked her if she was in love with anyone.

After responding to his question, Matanitabu then asked her, "Do you love me?". He will be sentenced on February 11.
