Update: 5:58PM WITH schools all over the country opening next Monday, parents and guardians are requested to prepare their children well for the first school term of this year.
Schools will officially open on January 21 for boarding students to be enrolled into their respective schools while day scholars will start on January 22.
"I am requesting parents and guardians to prepare their children well for classes. Stationeries and school uniform should one of the priorities for parents," Minister of Education permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal said.
Dr Lal has also urged students to be prepared mentally and spiritually for the start of the new school year.
