NADROGA rugby prop Peni Ravai has replaced injured Levani Botia in the Digicel Fiji Barbarians team for the Uprising Fiji International 7s tournament.
Botia was ruled out of the HSBC Sevens World Series with a knee injury which has kept him on the sideline during most training sessions.
Ravai was initially named in the FMF Fiji Warriors team but was promoted to the Barbarians side after Botia failed to recover.
Forcing their way into the Warriors team are Tailevu utility Aisea Druma and Nadi-based Donasio Ratubuli and Ledua Ratumuri.
Digicel Fiji 7s team manager Semi Rogoyawa confirmed that Boti would not be available for the next leg in Wellington and Las Vegas.
"Botia is injured and Peni Ravai is moving up to the Barbarians team. We have to call up Donasio Ratubuli, Aisea Druma and Ledua Ratumuri to make up the final 12 in the Warriors side," he said.
Botia was instrumental during Fiji's Gold Coast triumph last year. The Naitasiri man was rested so he could recover in time for the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament in Russia.
